School Association Booklists:
- The International Reading Association (IRA) publishes several lists: Teachers' Choices, Young Adults' Choices and Children's Choices. These lists are co-sponsored by the Children's Book Council. The IRA Children's Literature and Reading Special Interest Group selects an annual list of Notable Books for a Global Society.
- National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has several different awards and lists. A committee of NCTE selects a winner and up to five honor books for the Orbis Pictus Award for Outstanding Nonfiction for Children.. The Children's Literature Assembly, an affiliate of NCTE annually selects Notable Trade Books in the Language Arts.
- The National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) selects an annual list of Notable Tradebooks for Young People (grades K-8). Note: You may have to seek out their journal for the most recent lists, or access them through TitleWave. This list is co-sponsored by the Children's Book Council. The Carter G. Woodson Book Award for the most distinguished social science book is also sponsored by NCSS.
- The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) selects and annual list of Outstanding Science Trade Books for Students K–12. This list is co-sponsored by the Children's Book Council.

- American Association for the Advancement of Science with Subaru and Science Books & Films selects the AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books.
- American Institute of Physics has a Science Writing Award for children's books.
- Association of Booksellers for Children - The E. B. White Read Aloud Awards.
- Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education and Idaho State University sponsors the National Outdoor Book Awards.
