Resources and information to help with planning for summer reading.

The Collaborative Summer Library Program

The State Library has joined the Collaborative Summer Library Program (website: http://www.cslpreads.org/ ). The Collaborative is a group 44+ state and regional libraries who work together to produce a summer program.  Products include a manual for a children's program and a young adult program (available in print and on CD), as well as reading records, bookmarks, posters, certificates, and a host of other incentives and awards.  The children's theme for summer 2009 is Be Creative @ Your Library, with artist David Catrow. The young adult theme is Express Yourself @ Your Library with artist Brad Sneed.
Also look ahead to summer 2010's  water-themed Make a Splash – READ (for children) and Make Waves @ Your Library – READ (for teens) . The 2011 theme is World Culture and Travel.
