The Technology Training Centers enable the Connecticut State Library to provide hands-on computer and technology training to library staff. Examples of topics include computer basics, office software, Internet resources, Internet reference resources, Web development, iCONN resources, cataloging software, and much more.

Guidelines for Use

Specifications
The MLSC Center contains twelve student workstations, each with a flat-screen monitor, floppy disk drive, CD-RW drive, and a Windows XP operating system.  The WLSC Center has 16 Student Workstations with similar hardware and Windows XP operating system.

The instructor's workstations have a similar configuration, with the addition of a DVD drives.

Software loaded on each workstation includes: Internet Explorer and other browsers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Frontpage, Publisher),  Adobe Photoshop Elements, Dreamweaver, Connexion, and other common software tools. Workstations have a T-1 connection to the Internet.

A networked printer is attached to each network.  A color scanner is available at MLSC.

Training monitors controlled by the instructor's workstation are located at the student workstations.

At least two of the workstations can be adjusted for wheelchair accessibility at each facility.

The buildings are handicapped accessible.
