What Treasures Do YOU Have in Your Library?
Do you have a GREAT historical collection in your library to share with the community?
Have you wondered how to get this collection digitized and put up on the Web?
Are you interested in an inexpensive and easy way to do this?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, then the “Treasures of Connecticut Libraries” project may be a great fit for your library.
Treasures of Connecticut Libraries is a joint project of the Connecticut State Library and the Library Connection Inc. network of public and academic libraries.
The Connecticut State Library has purchased a statewide license for ContentDM digital rights management software that allows libraries to manage, store and make accessible their digital objects. Using this software, the State Library has created a “Treasures of Connecticut Libraries” Web site to make these digital objects available online.
The Library Connection (LCI) staff and State Library staff will assist libraries with the selection of appropriate materials to be included in their digital collections. LCI can provide the scanning and cataloging of the objects on behalf of the libraries so that they are visible and searchable online. Digitized materials deemed appropriate for Connecticut History Online (CHO) will be included both in the "Treasures" collection as well as in CHO.
