LSTA in Connecticut
The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds are provided through the Institute of Museum and Library Services , an independent Federal grant-making agency dedicated to creating and sustaining a nation of learners by helping libraries and museums serve their communities. The use of LSTA funds in Connecticut are administered according to the Five Year Plan (2008-2012) submitted to IMLS in June of 2007. Amount of Funds Available The amount of LSTA funds available for grants depends on each year's LSTA budget; at this time there are no grants planned for FY 2009-2010. We are monitoring the situation closely and will notify the library community of any changes. What are the categories for which grants will be accepted? Each year the Advisory Council on Library Planning and Development determines grant categories based on goals in the LSTA Five Year Plan, 2008-2012. For Fiscal Year 2009 grants will be made available in the following categories. Program Grants: Should funding become available, libraries planning on applying for an LSTA (Library Service and Technology Act) grant for the 2009-2010 year will be expected to attend one session of a procedural workshop. We strongly recommend that the attendee be the same person who is writing the grant.
