Resources and information to help with planning for summer reading.

The Collaborative Summer Library Program

The Connecticut State Library is a member of the Collaborative Summer Library Program (website: http://www.cslpreads.org/ ). The Collaborative is a group 49+ state and regional libraries who work together to produce yearly children's, teen and adult summer programs.  Products include manuals for each program (available in print and on CD), as well as reading records, bookmarks, posters, certificates, and a host of other incentives and awards available from Highsmith.  The children's water-themed slogans for summer 2010  are Make a Splash – READ (for children) and Make Waves @ Your Library – READ (for teens) . The 2011 theme is World Culture and Travel.
See our blog Connecticut Summer Reading 2010 for program ideas.
